There is no doubt in an information society that men and women are seeking solid information regarding their skin aging. With the onslaught of antiaging commercials and beauty products promising to turn back time, simple product selling is more difficult than ever.  Physicians, nurses and aestheticians have an opportunity to create real skin care programs with both the science and the aesthetic knowledge behind the skills, treatments, procedures and , well, yes ....products. An increased understanding of the structure and function of the skin is helping to drive the development of outstanding skin care products that diminish the appearance ( extrinsic ) visible signs of facial skin aging, according to research and development of Aestheticians International Association, Division Medical Aesthetics.

With aging, all skin cells begin to produce excess amounts of free radicals--unstable oxygen molecules that, under ideal circumstances, are removed by naturally occurring antioxidants within the skin's cells. In aging skin cells, antioxidants are not readily available due to various factors including environmental exposure. The free radicals generated are left unobstructed and cause destruction to cell membranes, proteins, and DNA. These free radicals eventually break down a protein substance in connective tissue (collagen) and release chemicals that cause inflammation in the skin. It is a combination of these cellular and molecular events that leads to skin aging and the formation of wrinkles, according to the Researcher and  Facial Aesthetic Cosmetic Instructor,  1-888-769-3223 Anna D. Two components vary, slow down or breakdown working as we get older which has been necessary to maintain the smooth youthful appearance of the skin. Theses two components of our skin, namely, collagen and elastin, begin to breakdown,  and are replaced with the beginning telltale signs of an aging face presented as creases, fines lines,  wrinkles,  folds, and furrows. The breakdown of these components, accelerated by sun exposure, smoking, poor diet, poor aesthetic care, ineffective skin care products, cosmetics and gravity, results in the sagging, dulling, ruddy skin complexions.

 Clinical Skin Care Specialists are specialized nurses, aestheticians and select cosmetologists working with skin care programs that do not physiologically change the skin but do soften the impact of an aging appearance on a preventive basis. Medical aesthetic skin care programs do not imply that they will turn back the time by physiologically changing the skin as much as the the skin care specialists provide  clinically sound skin care information, treatments and protocols that the individual ( male and female ) will literally change their own behaviors that contribute to the aging skin appearance and bring back a healthy complexion.
